This immense place of worship built on the rocks, surrounded by sea on all sides, is magnificent. And it would have been so; if not for the tourists that come to visit there.

The pathway leading to the dargah leaves you disgusted, sympathetic, wondering, curious, angry and awed....all at the same time.
For you'll be able to see crumpled and handicapped people lying around as if the pathway was actually there home, supposedly at work, begging for money from passersby.

You'll see small girls with babies, old men hoarding little tables with artefacts to sell.

The rocks on which the dargah is built, are huge but have disintegrated with time and are hidden beneath the dirt and muck of mumbaikars.

The outsides have been commercialised to an extent that professional photographers hang around there ready to take a picture of you as a tourist.

BUT....

Once you get inside the dargah.....you do feel a sense peace filling you in; irrespective of your religion.

It is decorated with green and Yellow traditional cloths.....fluttering with the winds of the sea.

The back side of the dargah can be used to wash your feet and hands according to the tradition, and it leads straight into the sea. You can sit on the rocks, look out to the sea, pray to the Gods at the same time.

One forgets to see the disgusting sights while coming back, coz of the peaceful mind that he takes along.....
